- See Less - Jordan Hasay is one of the most decorated U.S. distance runners in history. She is a two time Footlocker National champion, 4 time California State Champion in cross country, 3 time California State Champion in the 3200m, 2 time USATF cross Country national champion, and the 2008 National Track & Field Athlete of the year. She has also been selected to 3 USATF Jr. National teams. Perhaps her greatest accomplishment came in the summer of 2008 when she qualified for the 1500m final at the U.S. Olympic trials. Hasay finished in 9th place, setting a new high school record of 4:14.50.
seriously?! Jordan Hasay has to jump over a soccer ball during her workout! Hilarious, our best HS distance runner in the country... coulda broke an ankle
the 28.6 200 could of been faster...that coach needs to tell her to pump her arms when shes sprinting!!!
she was running like a long distance runner! not good when it comes to kicking
That coach is sick! In a 12 minute video he seems to be one of the best coaches a high school phenom could ask for. Nice, positive, is a friend(cool down at the friend was bordering on disney stuff) and knows how to inspire an already accomplished athlete to greater heights. that intro was definately inspiring to me, let alone to jordan herself.
Awesome video! And Jordan- if you ever do cut your hair, donate it to Locks of Love. Some little girl would be blessed to receive the fastest, most famous blond pony tail of all time!
I have been waiting so long for this workout :). When I saw that the workout wednesday was Jordan Hasay, I literally almost started jumping up and down in excitement. Great workout, it will be great to see how Jordan runs in the summer.
first tyte intro and she get the coverage she rightfully deserves. actually i wish that she received more coverage for her talent. i do hope however that she doesnt bust while transitioning to college and the pros.

yeah he's run some solid times. 15:28 5k and 31:25 10k at 40yrs of age. and a 4:06 1500m at 42yrs.

Before you open your mouth and say anything really dum, do your homework on this guy. When you've done that little bit of work, come back and read what you just wrote. We'll start with UC Irvine. Now turn your head and cough. You can go from there.
I was thinking the same thing about the sarcasm. One person not catching on is fine, but it seemed like every other person didn't get it. I have always been around runners and find they are pretty smart. Now I'm not so sure about that.
Great video though. I've never had a great workout running by myself. Can't wait to see what she can do when she has a real team to run with.
Thanks... can we have a Flotrack workout with Stanford runners like Chetelat, Follmar, Centrowitz etc? Since you guys were already down there. Thanks. Or with both the mens and womens team.
Were the people standing there on the grass/running on the track when she was doing the 200s her high school team? Or the team of the local community college (who's track she was using?)?
She is amazing... I wish I could run 2:18 in the 800 and she ran it as the last rep! 27-28 is amazing too... that is also another time that is decent on its own, she is running it as part of reps...
I have waited SO long for a Jordan Hasay workout!! Thank you Flotrack!! She has been one of the most popular athletes ever. GREAT workout!
Not only is Jordan a great runner but she is also a great student... maintains an extremely high GPA, etc. Good luck at the Honors College in Oregon JH!
Thank you Flotrack!! I've been hoping you would do a Hasay workout vid! Jordan you are an amazing runner and such a nice person. Best of luck in college and beyond! Leave her alone about her hair, she would probably lap you in a 1500 so you shouldn't be talking. Grow up.
here are a couple other cool videos from that day. one is mando talking about her recovery during workouts and the other is where we met her youth coach from before her high school days

You dirty guy! What if you hit her? Now you have to outrun her to save your bacon. Good Luck! On the bright side, you'd be in this video, hanging from the goalpost with your shorts wedgied up around your neck. She's a pretty tough girl. lol
Coach Steve Chavez would be proud. If you've ever been to one of his coaching seminars at Murrieta Valley HS you'd laugh watching this video. He drills this stuff into your head constantly. Dynamic Stretching, Interval Training, 3 minutes rest between runs (not one second more), total miles per day and per week! It certainly made a difference in my program back then, and I told him so. It's just the greatest coaching a HS kid can get and her coach has it down to a science!
Awesome workout. She is incredible. I also coach high school girls. I get all the team very involved and we have a great training atmosphere. The only problem, just like every high school program is highschool relationships. My question is how Hassay or any other elite athlete deal with this.
This video has the highest production value of any Flo video yet. On the whole site. Fantastic. Bravo on the editing. And the subject matter wasn't too shabby either.
I'm liking the open field running. My back yard was that big in high school. In winter I built a plow with a sled to clear a track in the snow. Never got much speed work in because it snowed a lot in Jefferson County, New York. But come spring track time I had tons of leg power from plowing the snow. I was very at home running in the grass year round. Jordan and Mando are bringing back some great memories!
Talk about being ready for any move in a race...she had to pay avoid soccer balls not once, but twice and even hurdle the ball on the first one. haha..what a trip.
She is a darn smooth runner.
Its coming to the end of an era. Jordan Hasay's senior year. She has goals on her mind and things to accomplish, but there has been set backs over the past few months. She missed her last Arcadia meet where she had hoped to set the National 3200 meter record (9:48). She missed the indoor national record at 2 miles. This is really the first season Jordan has been hampered with illness. However time has past and things are getting back on track. Jordan ran the 1500 this past weekend at the Payton Jordan Invite against some of the top elite and collegiate girls in the country. Her time of 4:16.80 was only 2.3 seconds shy of her national high school record. With the guidance of Coach Mando, things seem to be looking up and Jordan Hasay is back on the move. Check out her workout 11 days out from Payton Jordan.... (Watch 1500m Race)
Original Workout:
3x1200 - 3mins recovery
4-6x200 - 1min recovery
she nearly got spit on. are the other kids not aware of who she is? or that shes running a workout? jeez..
she was running like a long distance runner! not good when it comes to kicking
tits workout wednesday all around
From personal experience I know that her coach is a great guy and the Sisqueiros (sorry if I spell it wrong) family has a great history of running.
go jordan
why does she work out in spikes?
and imo, she should just leave her hair as is. look at what happened to samson when he cut his hair...
Coach Mando has some pretty respectable times, especially as a masters runner. I'm 21 and ran a 31:53 10K on the roads. He ran faster at twice my age!
wow, I know what he's doing is working, but that coach seems like a scrub to me
good workout provided lots of insight.
Great video though. I've never had a great workout running by myself. Can't wait to see what she can do when she has a real team to run with.
ALL Jordan . . . most impressive!
the day jordan hasay cuts her hair is the day of the apocalypse.
She is amazing... I wish I could run 2:18 in the 800 and she ran it as the last rep! 27-28 is amazing too... that is also another time that is decent on its own, she is running it as part of reps...
I've been waiting for that since she is in high school.
that time is absolutely ridiculous for the last REP of a workout... would place in meets in many many places.
Nice workout, Jordan.
Nice music choice, Ryan.
Not only is Jordan a great runner but she is also a great student... maintains an extremely high GPA, etc. Good luck at the Honors College in Oregon JH!
treat for young runners just starting out.
I almost took out the best youth runner in decades!
sweet intro
She is a darn smooth runner.
I kinda lke it.
Is the a star student as well?
