cry cry cry it is normal but meggy where you put you energy i am not runner if i want to win i dont care i stay stay stay 1st this important tied not tied same you nied to go to see coache to learn swimming kicks after running is easy just try nice girl bye from paris max
Great indicator workout, she sure did get it done, she's awesome, just hope she didn't leave her best race in Monaco and saved the best for World's, go Maggie!
With 3 Brits who've run under 2 mins this year and Yuliya Krevsun (world lead this year) in London's field she should have enough people to drag her around under 2.
Coaching Question - no rest after the 50 or 200 jog, straight into the next rep. The 50 or 200 is the rest. Not sure of the rest between the cutdowns, or between the sessions. I suspect there was a bit of easy running (probably at faster than my race pace!) both before and after the session.
Hard luck with Maggie not breaking 2min again at Gent and definitely pretty emotional for her to throw down the F BOMB in the race coverage. This was a cool WOW and enjoyed the sound bytes within the workout. Hope that she can get the standard so she can represent the US at Worlds!
if anyone can help shed some light on this workout that would be great. I coach swimming but like to look at track workouts from time to time. So..... on each set does she take any rest after the 50m or 200m jog? Or does she begin the next repeat once she is back at the starting line?
Finally..... is this the whole workout for the day or was there any other aerobic work (ie easy run) after the three sets.
Sub 2!!! Gotta love Maggie! Nice job placing your interview over the workout sequence, Ryan. It added alot (not that following Maggie around is that tough an assignment). Thanks.
i like her style, pretty cool chica! i hope she gets the A standard and competes at worlds, she deserves it. oh and yes she is very pretty which makes watching her race even better.
Awesome video! The bike is a nice touch and takes some serious coordination to keep her in the frame while pedaling. You can tell you guys have a pretty good relationship because she is comfortable being silly. You don't usually get to see the athlete's personality in the interviews. Again great job guys.
Sprinter,
I hope all of your knowledge of Seb Coe isn't gained from a cartoon television program. In addition, I don't know what the founding of the United States has to do with running at all. You should try to learn a little more about spelling and grammar before you bring up education in an argument. Back to the main point, repeat 200s are a common workout for most 800 runners as well as milers. I happen to do quite a few of them myself.
I know she's talented and I can see/hear that she's also very intelligent, but I'm 100% distracted with how freakin beautiful this girl is. Absolutely criminal!!
Please get rid of the interferring noise/music! It is very annoying. I'd like to hear the voices, and sounds of the running like being there, not having the voices obscured by NOISE. Can you please remove that part ---- Thank You.
Karl Johnson said: to that sprinter comment... heard of sebastian coe? probably not... why are you on this site? I''m also retarded...
Hey bud how about u remove this sites genitals from your mouth and learn somethin. who the ell doesn't know coe, he was on family guy (british pub episode). but i bet your zealous distance track self doesn't even know how yer got to america. it was not Columbus, you embecile. moreover, can you name one founding father? try to answer that-- if yer can't, get the hell out of america.
That looks like Brad Yewer, who is with Flynn Sports management and made his flotrack bones either last year or 2007 in the flotrack 800 when he looked like he was about 20-30 pounds heavier than in this video.
shes not doing a sprint workout. she is doing an 800m sharpening workout. she is a 4/8 girl more so than an 8/15 girl. she is trying to run fast now so she can make worlds
Sprinter said: Why did she just run a sprint workout? Someone get this lady a coach. She doesn't know what the hell she is doing. Aneorobic workout! WTF!
She'll definitely need that closing speed at the finish of the 800. You can't withdraw from the bank if you haven't made any deposits.
Vessey is an amazing athlete. Ryan, give her my number so we can set up a few runs for the fall season. I would definitely like to run with such an astonishing athlete. As for your curtsy, that would be extremely funny in Europe.
1-she is awesome to watch run. and has a much cooler story than a lot of pro runners because she slowly became a stud. her tactics are crazy, and she is like a modern day Dave Wottle(can u interview her about her tactics?)
2-she is really so hot
3-girls arent normally funny...she is
I don’t follow Girls/Ladies track much. But I might start if I get to see more gals like M. V. What’s not to like about M. V.?
Smoking Fast and Smoking Hot!!
Your new fan wishes you the best of luck.
heah,is maggie wearing spikes in that workout. Her personalility is so funny and relaxed, plus she is so fit.A good 800 type body.Long legs and quick turnover.Wow 25 secs at the end was cool.Wish you the best Maggie.Run like a ballerina.
I really like this workout. She shows that even the pros do the basic workouts most of us high school runners do. I think it's okay to not have a partner. Asics had a great blog a few weeks ago about finding a running partner. It is hard to find one because you want one who can keep your pace, not complain during a hard workout, etc. I think she's going to do great in Paris, she just needs to concentrate and try hard. I think if she keeps up the way she runs, she will definitely be ready for the Olympics in 2012.
Maggie Vessey prepares for Paris where she will be attempting to break 2:00 once again. If Maggie his the 'A' standard (2 flat or under) then she'll still have a good shot at the World team. She's had big wins this year at Pre and the Rome Golden League so we'll see if we can get another kick-ass race at the Paris Golden League.
Workout:
4x150m @ 22.5 with 50m jog between
4x200m @ 29-30 with 200m jog between
3x200 cutdoowns.....28-27-26
The commentators said that you had a 2 MINUTE PR!!!
Must have felt like 2 Minutes, eh?
LOL!
Great job Maggie!
