So who gets the credit for Coaching her to the American Record? Does her husband get to put that on his resume? At what date was the coaching change made?

One reason I continue to follow T+F is that the athletes are wonderfully human. Flanagan is a hunting tiger on the track, but in this interview we hear everyday reservations. Great historic US runner, great person.

So great to see her succeed and run the way she has over the last few years. She ran so well and then kind of disappeared for a year or so. Now she's America's best female distance runner. Good to hear she's still motivated too.

And Shalane, I know how you feel about being happy and running well. There really is a big correlation there. Good luck with everything.

She is taking big risk, but the payoff may be worth it. She definitely has my attention.

ATH, she said if she's able to run under 14:40 she would consider it. Plus, she ran the 10k first, so who knows what would've happened if she was fresh for the 5k.

Why is she still considering the 5k for Berlin? It's clear that she can't compete on the international level in that event, while she's proven that she can in the 10k.

This is a great interview. Loved the video. She's ready to do some big things. There are some coaches she would fit right in with.

Shalane and Coach Cook are two of my favorite people in running.....You could see Shalane getting a little teary eyed....To bad coach Cook could not commit more personal time......it's sad to this break up. Thank you Flotrack and Shalane for this interview, I think I understand what happen? Anyway....let's the races begin!...Kick butt and break record!
