Alan is still the Best in my Eyes! everyone goes through difficult times and sometimes those difficult times linger but I hope Alan hasn't lost hope in himself because there's a lot of people like myself who will never loose hope in him.

NOT REAL (my opinion)... if I am wrong hands down the worst haircut ever. He would have had to gone to the barber and said "make me look like I wear a wig". The barber did a great job!

I am at the finish line at every race because I am such a clown. When alan passes the finish line, he looks like an all city high school football player position right tackle.... not a miler

Not Exactly A Hater, But...   February 5 at 10:03pm
Webb really needed to clue us fellow runners in on WHY he had such a bad year. At least he could salvage a disappointing 2008 by teaching us how to learn from his mistakes.

Ditto. Webb not even qualifying for the olympics was a complete choke. Same with his choke at the world championships. And pretty much every big race he's ever been in that allowed him to win something big. Webb is a glorified time trail runner. He would have more success pacing WR miles than trying to win medals.

He will have a good year. Everyone and everything has highs and lows.
What doesnt go away? A solo time trail in a race that had no stress put on him?

Thats great that he got the american record, but it doesnt make him our best miler. Not by a long shot. Webb chokes.

Alan...you're a huge inspiration to us here at Hunters Woods Elementary...and your dad is one strong man! Thanks for all that you do and have done for the sport. I might have your dad give you the Sub4 book to have you autograph it for me (if that's all right with you and your dad). :-)

ive been injured before, between ham pull and tendinitis/ shin splits all right after another it sucks. i feel what he goes through not only cant u train or race well. but when u run these crappy times u start to think is this all i can do. so the injury takes u down in psychologically and physically. its really hard. he will do it.

Just to give people an idea of how fast a world class miler has to be Alan webb ran a 47 split on his high school mile relay.Said Aouita, who had the world record in the mile and 5k ran an individual 400 meters in 46.9 seconds.

Alan Webb is a miler so the window for him is the 2012 olympics, and thats it.I have watched him run the 5k,10k, and he is definetly outstanding, but his chance to medal at the worlds or olympics lies in the mile.He ran a 1;43 800,I would love to,and think he is capable of running a 1;42 high, and if he does that; look out!

Every world class runner has had their own ups and downs. Whether it was Said Aouita or Seb Coe, they all had good and bad years. Yet they attained records and medals. I'm sure Webb is gonna have his Up year soon.
