sounds good and i like speeding things up, but long meets are not the major problem for u.s. track on field.
the problem is that the fan base is shrinking.
we do not have a club system, we have a college system.
the big carrot is to get a scholarship.
college teams have become nothing more than international welfare.
fewer and fewer Americans try to go on to run college track.
thus they do not run high school track do not have their friends and family follow the sport.
you can not shame people into watching a bunch of people they have no vested interest in.
we will continue the slow slide into the abyss until someone has the courage to address the real underlying issue.

hey flotrack, you guys rock!

Other than the PGA and NASCAR interview, I would pretty much agree with Logan on everything. He really understands the problems and hopefully he can carry his marketing expertise over from his other jobs.

These. Interviews. Rock. It is so cool to hear USATF talk about these things. I hope he makes his omelet, anything is better than the runny eggs we've got now.

I like that he recognizes that currently there is a lack of value for joining USATF. I have only belonged for a couple of years, and that was only when I was in the JO, Junior type competitions, because you had to to get into the meet. Right now I see almost no incentive to joining if I'm not racing.

Pyrotechnics? Sounds exciting... and dangerous. HELL YEA! That's what we need! Danger, people love danger. "We've got to break some eggs to make an omelet. And we're going to do that."
