Dude wow the only fear i have for this girl, is the aspect of not fully experiencing losing. If she doesn't lose eventually she will never develop a work ethic in order to become a future Jordan Hassay

This is not right. Running pre-pubescent girls hard is an all around bad idea. Their bodies and minds need time to develop to avoid a bunch of long term problems such as injury and eating disorders. Coaches and parents need to back off. It is about the girl, not them.

It was "pity fall". She wants people to feel pity for her. The officials probably see it every girls race. No need to feed the pity.

Whether or not she becomes bored/burnt out with running will depend on the reason why she does it. If it is a social thing, then she will quit - but if it becomes a part of who she is, then she will run throughout her life.

Arthur lynriad always said young (pre pubrity) girls have natural endurance abilty. the real test is if she can keep the weight down, and the training up. College is a long ways away.......

I've never been a great runner, but, now that you mention it, I started running with the high school kids on my school's team when I was in 7th grade and still enjoy the sport as a freshman in college.(though I just run on my own now) So everybody has different experiences. Just because you got bored with the sport doesn't mean she will.

I've been following T&F;for over 40 years and with the exception of Julia Stamps ans Jordan Hasay have not been as impressed since Mary Decker. Watch this young girl's running style with arm cross-over, forward lean and controlled stride. Hopefully she will get excellent coaching for pre-JO meets & high school. Incredible form for her age. For some of the greats just look at Obea Moore's (2x HS Athlete of the Year)times as a youth.

That girl who sprinted the first lap won the NSIC 2 mile last year in 10:28. She dropped out of today's race with an injury.
