Over 75% of all the USA's Olympians in the Race Walk are from NAIA colleges. The NCAA doesn't know what race walking is.

Peters averaged just under 2:00 per 400. Split times were given every 400 meters.
Peters is now a three time indoor collegiate champ in the RW (2007, 2008, 2009). She also won the HS National champs in 2006. She has competed on the USA National team in the USA-Canada dual, the IAAF Pan American RW cup in Brazil, and in Mexico at the NACAC T&F;championships.

To answer the announcers' question, the WR in the women's 3000 walk is 11:40.33 (Claudia Stef, 1999).

It's in the Olympics, so at least a few countries participate. Good walkers from Europe, Asia, and South America. Unfortunately, not a lot of international championship success from American racewalkers.

Well it looks right to me. One foot on track at all times. When foot makes contact with track, knee must be straight. Those are the two rules judges look for.

A few racewalk facts:

There are three Olympic racewalk events. The men compete at 20K and 50K. The women compete at 20K. The USA has not won an Olympic or World championship medal in quite a few years.
