There is no reason why Pixie (what I always called her) can't mention God. She is truly an amazing person, with strength and resolve like very few have. This, in itself, is truly a gift from God!
I hope you experience much continued success with your running, Pixie!

Think About It   March 28 at 11:23am
It blows my mind that so many are upset, taken by surprise or what ever by a simple comment regarding God. It wasn't prostiletizing or preaching, just a thought.
For her to be criticized or brought to task for it is just unbelievable.
Do you know when you are sworn in in a court of law yt ou place your hand on a Bible and "In God We Trust" is printed on all our money? What is wrong with some of you people. If you want to be atheist that is your right but it is also a right to be a believer.

agreed said:
Yeah it really is annoying how she especially, makes references to religion. I mean come on, he didn't ask you how God has helped you out, just answer the question and quit trying to sound all goody goody and religious..sheeshh!!!

Oh and btw,
Pugetsoundhound, just shuttup. seriously you elaborate and post the dumbest things on this site. just go away and shuttup!!
...hmm...again, I simply stated some facts. My posts appear to be taking on some aspects of a Rorschach test. I don't believe in god, but I know lots of Methodists, I have three friends who are ministers - we have a strong committment to social justice in common. None that I can remember are hard-core prostletizers, some are the absolute kindest people I've ever met.

I agree, the god comments kind of catch us by surprise on this site. If I was interviewing, it would be kind of awkward. But I really like her. The alternative of not interviewing her would be a diservice to the Foltrack readers.

Hey, last time I checked we STILL have freedom of religion in this country (thank goodness). . . If Jessica wants to make a "religious reference", however mild or strong (and hers was pretty mild) then that is her RIGHT. so please don't say "easy with the religious references lady" that is a pretty obnoxious remark (actually pretty scary remark IMO). And GO Jessica, great showing!

Seattle Pacific, which has 3,400 students, is formally affiliated with the Pacific Northwest Conference of the Free Methodist Church of North America. It is one of eight colleges nationally affiliated with the church. All of SPU's employees, from janitor to president, are required to be active Christians.
