I think Wheating's 1500 kick was better than this! Running between everyone at the finish line, the crowd going totally nuts, holding his arms up...I can't believe I'm the first one to post this!

I would have to agree with Observer. Wheating's final time was 1:49:83 - I would thing its easy for him to make the closer look good at such a pedestrian pace. He intentionally sat back to at some drama.

I'll start to be impress if he can repeat the stunt at Nationals.

Kicking late is a bad habit to get into. Granted it works in the US-guys like symmonds and wheating do it a lot-but internationally when EVERYONE else can do it the US guys get owned because they just sit back. Maybe thats why there hasn't been an American in the finals of the 800 at any major championship in a long time.

Kick of the Week (May 18)

Kick of the week comes from the PAC-10 meet where is seemed like crazy kicks were coming at us non-stop all weekend! However, even with all the craziness we were able to narrow down to one of the best "kick-masters" in the US, Mr. Andy Wheating, in the 800 final. Nothing like making it dramatic....
