The cameraman is scandinavian, I'm from Alaska and theres no such thing as an Alaskan accent
lol love the alaskan accent on the camera man. and this race probably wasn't necessary, though impressive nonetheless. normally you would want to save your energy, not like it mattered in the end. extraordinary athlete.
For my high school soccer team, one of our requirements for varsity was running under 12minutes for a two mile the first day of doubles. I was in pretty good shape, maybe the best of my life, and ran 11:56. But what he did on his own, no pacers and nobody to block the wind, that's pretty impressive.
Alright guys, just to clear up this stupid controversy, I run on the same team as Trevor and the "T" stands for "Tyler." Tyler is his friend, and it was his birthday so he did it for him. Calm down, my god. And stop talking smack.
Ihave watched Trevor run anumber oftimesover the last three years. He ran 9:19 at state with strep throat. What most of you do not realize isl iving in Alaska really does make training difficult. Shovelling snow of the track in April, sometimes having only three meets a season and to be honest lack of real compitition all make his achievements that much more amazing. I wonder how well you would have done growing up here with us?
cbcvbc said: some people run best when they are solo and the competition doesn't boost their time that much more a la fernandez. 8:51 is a very impressive time, but i think that anyone who says that he will run a lot faster is not thinking through their decision. some people are just time trial-ers with an insane mental clock that gets thrown off when there are sudden drops/slowing of pace. possibly this is the best run that he will have this year. who knows what kind of "racer" he is. he couldn't take down haile.
just sayin'
Inependent of Solomon Haile's age, which I'm not questioning, Trevor has considerably more potential for physical maturation. Trevor still looks like a kid - Solomon looks more like a 30 year old.
It will be very interesting to watch his development vs. Haile, considering the differences in the colleges they'll be attending.

there is nothing gang related here people relax plus you can be any where and be a gangster. you can live in on mars and be a gangster don't think alaska have no gangs. that sign was for time.
Actually some don't. It's just that the majority feel the need to say two-mile instead of 3200, especially in the U.S., because we're not fully accomodated to the metric system, so even if we know it's a 3200 race, sometimes the term two-mile will slip out anyways. I catch myself doing it every once in a while.
"What everyone doesnt realize that dunbar was not ever contested once during the whole race, also hes in freaking Alaska.... let me count all the national elites from Alaska"
Thode was alone the entire race too, also number of national elites doesnt mean anything about a race wen sed elites arnt even running give me a break

....I question your theory sir. But its wrong. You would think at least person might be timing this race, since it is kind of a big deal, so don't think so, but you may be right so don't be too sad.

no flotrack didnt take the video but they did give him(dunbar) the credit by putting it on the mainscreen, its no disrespect just the simple fact that illinois track field and cross country is 100% overlook, thats a fact
Dang you people are so stupid chill out! This video wasnt even takin by flotrack so if that Thode kid wants credit then why dont yal put up a video of the race. let someone shine gosh!
HEY WHAT ABOUT THODE!? The kid ran 4:09 indoors this year ad 8:51 outdoor; as well as winning Illinois XC 3A State. Whats the deal flotrack? Illinois not good enough for you.
Thode can sign right up. Where is his account? Blog? How about he post a video? That's all TB is doing ... really not that difficult, but it takes a little bit of effort via the runner
Looks to me that he's putting his hands in the form of a "T". Which makes me think he was telling them something about stop the watch or something like that. I don't get why some thought in any way that it was a gang sign.
Anyway, that's a great solo run. I'm sure he'll even go faster this year.
May 8, 2009 Trevor Dunbar ran 3200 meters in 8:51. Kodiak High School vs. Bartlet High School in Kodiak, Alaska. This is the same track Trevor ran the 3200 Meter in the snow. May 13, 2009
2 Zachary Wills 11 Mason, OH 8:55.18F
3 Lukas Verzbicas 12 New Lenox, IL 8:55.58F
4 Graham Bazell 09 Columbia, MD 8:56.00F
5 Jeff Thode 09 Schaumburg, IL 8:57.36F
Thode ran a 4:05 at the IL state meet. What's Dunbar up to? What, like 4:10?
Thode 2 - Dunbar 0
Thode 2 - Dunbar 0

I would like to hear your irish accent
the T is what you through up when you thizz a.k.a. "take ecstacy"
hes obviously just messing around
This kid has a long way to go if he ONLY ran 8:51. He ran 10 seconds slower IN SNOW! Let's go, he's better than that.
Go T.D.!
3200 =/= 2MILE
WHY DO PEOPLE THINK THEY'RE THE SAME THING?!
I think it's better and far more original than the ubiquitous bilateral bicep flex a la Webb.
Be yourself Trevor!

That was the worst Irish accent I've ever heard. Great race by Trevor though.
