When you think about it, he had no one to maneuver around or try to serge away from. So running alone might have been an advantage.

lol love the alaskan accent on the camera man. and this race probably wasn't necessary, though impressive nonetheless. normally you would want to save your energy, not like it mattered in the end. extraordinary athlete.

For my high school soccer team, one of our requirements for varsity was running under 12minutes for a two mile the first day of doubles. I was in pretty good shape, maybe the best of my life, and ran 11:56. But what he did on his own, no pacers and nobody to block the wind, that's pretty impressive.

Alright guys, just to clear up this stupid controversy, I run on the same team as Trevor and the "T" stands for "Tyler." Tyler is his friend, and it was his birthday so he did it for him. Calm down, my god. And stop talking smack.

Ihave watched Trevor run anumber oftimesover the last three years. He ran 9:19 at state with strep throat. What most of you do not realize isl iving in Alaska really does make training difficult. Shovelling snow of the track in April, sometimes having only three meets a season and to be honest lack of real compitition all make his achievements that much more amazing. I wonder how well you would have done growing up here with us?

some people run best when they are solo and the competition doesn't boost their time that much more a la fernandez. 8:51 is a very impressive time, but i think that anyone who says that he will run a lot faster is not thinking through their decision. some people are just time trial-ers with an insane mental clock that gets thrown off when there are sudden drops/slowing of pace. possibly this is the best run that he will have this year. who knows what kind of "racer" he is. he couldn't take down haile.

just sayin'
Inependent of Solomon Haile's age, which I'm not questioning, Trevor has considerably more potential for physical maturation. Trevor still looks like a kid - Solomon looks more like a 30 year old.

It will be very interesting to watch his development vs. Haile, considering the differences in the colleges they'll be attending.

WHY DO PEOPLE THINK THEY'RE THE SAME THING?!
Actually some don't. It's just that the majority feel the need to say two-mile instead of 3200, especially in the U.S., because we're not fully accomodated to the metric system, so even if we know it's a 3200 race, sometimes the term two-mile will slip out anyways. I catch myself doing it every once in a while.
