 #3 | I would think most athletes would say their biggest regret would be never winning an olympic medal for their country, or only making it to the finals once out of four trips...especially someone who considers themself as a racer. Not many athletes would say their biggest acheivement is having their old high school times still be on the record books. That is very a very peculiar thought process. reply |
#2 | A lot of US athletes who seem obsessed about chasing times ought to learn from Joetta's career. She won a lot of races and she competed for a long time. Joetta Clark-Diggs is a four-time Olympian ('88, '92, '96, '00), six-time U.S. Indoor Champ ('88, '89, '90, '96, '97, '98), and five-time U.S. champ ('88, '89, '92, '93, '94) in the 800. In 2000, she joined her sister Hazel and sister-in-law Jearl Miles-Clark in qualifying for the Olympics in the 800 meters.She currently runs the Joetta Clark-Diggs Sports Foundation (http://www.joettasportsandbeyond.com/).
