this guy seems like a good guy. No wonder why Nick Willis likes this guy as his coach.

I respect anyone who serves, but I especially respect anyone who serves in a war. Man, not that any war is chill, but running around in the jungles of Vietnam seems intense.

Semper Fi there fellow Marine! You were there when I was there. May 68 - May 69, and again in 72-73. Retired in 88, volunteer coach for about 14 years after that. Wouldn't have done it any other way.

Yes, Really...   April 6 at 11:12pm
Sanchez; 'Beaner', not Sanchez, the beaner.
It's not a slur, it was his nickname.
Are you really surprised that in 1969 a Mexican Marine might have the nickname 'Beaner'?
Next you should take offense that they nicknamed the other guy 'Shorty'...

Ron Warhurst the Marine

Michigan Coach Ron Warhurst didn't start out as a coach. As a young man he joined Marines and went off to Vietnam. Warhurst talks about his time as a Marine, why he joined, and some knowledge he took from the experience.
