Anonymous coward. Texas has a 145, 147, 148, and two 149 guys going into this year. I think LSU is far off from being the best 800m school this year anyway. :)

Uh Oh?   April 13 at 10:20am
uh oh what are you talking about.LSU has had an half mile all american on both the mens and womens side the last 3 years. 2007. James came 5th indoor at Nationals as a freshman and ran 147.00 outdoor. Latavia Thomas won indoor nationals last year. They had 3 guys make indoor nationals last year. Kosgei came 2nd and Rueben came 4th. Thomas came 4th at indoor nationals this year. They swept the SEC 800m indoor last year. 1-2-3. 1-2 outdoor SEC. They may not have been an 800 powerhouse back in the day. But right now they are a good 800m program. Get your facts right before you start ratting off. Coach Elliott has 4 NCAA 800m female champions. Niesha Bernad Thomas, Claudine Williams, Marian Burnett, La Tavia Thomas. Give credit where it is due.

yeh.....LSU is a good program.rite up there with the best.maybe not as established as Texas when it comes to distance....nice interview....159-151 thats good for thompson. James is a cool cat no arrogance just happy and having fun. Texas is still the best.

for christ sakes, leave them be. They got some camera time, they enjoyed it and had fun with it. Who cares if they throw out some line at the end about being the best 800 school, at least they have confidence in themselves. Anyone know if LSU has a relay team at Penn?

Uh, who won that race? Not sure that those LSU guys could even be the 2nd best guy at Texas but if they really want to call themselves the best 800m school then that is cool. I would say Texas or UConn with LSU in 3rd - maybe.
