Jager is a cool name.

I finally saw the ESPN coverage of this, and I have no idea why I got my hopes up. About 90% of the race is editted out, and the remainder of it is spent talking about "The Amazing Lopez Lomong Story." Don't get me wrong, I love Lopez's triumph over adversity, but does the whole race need to be spent talking about it? His past is amazing, but its just that: his past. At the time they were announcing he was running a race, and THAT is what needs to be talked about. Meanwhile, barely 20 year old Evan Jager is going into the bell lap with Lomong as well as Kenya and Canada, and there is no mention of him. ESPN wasn't even covering that many races, so for the ones that they do cover they need to do their homework.

There is a lot of talk about what would increase the popularity and enthusiasm surrounding track. Suggestion: Cut the crap. This isn't a Disney Movie; its a sub 4 mile. Announce it accordingly.

Most importantly for Evan is that he is training in a great environment and under Jerry, who was his original coach at Wisconsin. Everyone can be an armchair quarterback and say what they want, but what matters is is long term development. Anytime anyone has gone pro it has been met with criticism of some sort, this is his first full season as a pro. He is very young and has a bright future.
