I think making track more popular is simple...Stop having so many meets each weekend and spreading out the talent so much. If there was only 2-3 meets each weekend, then the talent would be racing each other and the giant crowds would be coming. This past weekend was such a good weekend because there were three meets as far as most are concerned. Penn, Drake, Cal. If everyone on the east coast goes to Penn, in the midwest Drake and westcoast Cal, then we have 3 awesome meets.(Oregon Relays and Cal actually split the talent a little) That draws a lot more attention and is a lot more exciting. There are so many new meets that are just slowly drawing people away from the big meets. I say keep it with the classic meets or at least the ones that are drawing people. If you want to go more extreme, stretch out the big meets more too. Hypothetically, if Penn was the ONLY meet this weekend, we would have seen Cal, Stanford, Oregon, Webb, Rowbury, Wariner, etc. at Penn. Just an idea.

Sparknotes: Stop spreading the talent and start gaining crowd

Mark, you're a better man than I. I lost the stache shortly after getting back from Boston. I could barely look at myself in the mirror.
