This kid is an amazing runner. I went to high school with him and everyone looked up to him and we all know he's gonna make it far.

I went to high school with Evan, he being two years ahead of me. One thing I loved about his attitude for running was the fact that he wasn't flashy or showy. He was probably one of the most down to earth guys I've ever met.

There has been very little attention paid to Jager and Mead after last night's race. While I understand that Derrick and Fernandez are collegiate athletes, I still think its wrong to over look Jager's accomplishments. He's barely 20 years old and has already made some pretty impressive strides as a track athlete. When its all said and done, Jager still came through the line before Derrick, and Mead won the whole thing. It is a shame that Jager won't be running the 5k again this season, though.

Okay. I just looked him up on google and found all. His coach at Wisconsin took a job for Nike in Portland so he followed his coach instead of staying in Madison or transferring. He said if he had to choose another college to go to it would have been Oregon. I don't really know if he was looking to transfer there or if there was any recruiting from Vin (he also would have had to sit out a year) but he's doing the next best thing in being able to run there often since he's training out of Portland. Watching Centro's great race, Oregon would have had an insane 1500 group if Jager had transferred. They are going for the 4xMile record this coming weekend too. Should be interesting.

he ran like 14:00 flat for the 3.0 mile back in xc in the IHSA.. i've run against him before...he beat me by like a minute and a half though.. :S

What is his deal? He said he isn't taking classes full-time? So is he still in college but running professionally? How old is this kid?
