Chris Derrick, do not apologize for this. The people who take offense to this sort of thing are the type of people you shouldn't take seriously. Using the f-word in that context is pretty innocuous.

He has the right to say whatever he wants, but I think you're generalizing. Your statement isn't factual.

excellent points ryan!!! caught up in the moment, this is the interview i'd expect most normal young athletes to give. in 5 years you will get just a sound bike from CD, which is cool, but for now we get to experience (and accept) him as he is.

as an athlete you never know when you're going to get the chance to break records. when it happens it should be a big deal. speaking in the moment with all the emotions that go with that, its understandable things could slip out accidentally. its great to see fire from athletes. too many people do great things without showing the emotion people want to see. its cool chris, you guys all put on a show for the fans and it was exciting. the fans witnessed some history last night!

I did want to apologize for the swearing. In the excitement after the race I kind of forgot that I was doing an interview for public consumption. My apologies.

That was probably my least favorite interview on this site.
I mean I gotta hand it to the guy for what he did it was absolutely amazing but he could be a little bit more humble with his interview. Cussing was what shocked me. You can get your message across without cussing.
