Does anyone else find all these "I love her" comments, well, sort of creepy? They seem to care more about her looks than her incredible talent.

Jenny Barringer makes me want to start running again because she broke my 1,500 PR. And she's a girl!! She's so energetic. I remember when she was a no-namer freshmen at NCAA’s but my dad picked her to win just because his mom's maiden name is Berringer and she just passed Cassie Hunt at the end and screamed as she crossed the line. I couldn't believe it! She's got incredible aerobic power living up in the Rockies and all.

I've watched this video about ten times now. And I'm just wondering is there anything wrong with falling in love with a runner?

Her important race/races are in a couple of weeks at THE national Champs. Why waste anything on the NCAA's when you have a shot at the worlds. Just cruise through the NCAA's and put it out at nationals. Who cares about respecting the event or anyone else for that matter.
Actually, i'm sure she does have respect for her event. I find it y that you wrote a response saying to give no respect to the steeplechase and its participants.... hmmm y much? you're (insert derogatory comment).

It's a daunting task taking on Barringer in the Steeple. We (Ducks fans) are very impressed with Claire Michel's performance. 10:27 at PAC-10, 10:23 at the Western Conf. and moving up from 36th ranking coming into this meet to 14th, the last qualifier in the Prelims, with a time of 10:13. Only a Sopre, she's learning fast how to run a steeple.

What happened her Sopre year?
In the finals her shoe was clipped/fell off in the second lap and she fell to the back of the pack as she retied her shoe. She ended up finishing 7th.

But nice interview, good luck, Jenny!

"just come and enjoy ncaa's"
At least fake some respect for the event even though you are head and shoulders above the rest
