Not That Coug!   May 9 at 7:25pm
less talent pool (800m)? You must not be that coug!? you forgot a few guys have gone 145 in the 800m that you will see at nationals. abbott ran 149. There are alot more guys more deeply talented than 149. If I was abbot Id stick with the mile. We saw how alot of them choked in the indoor mile at nationals. Personally, I think youll see alot faster times in the 800 than have been posted this year at national.

just cuz rupp and Mcnamara havent run doesn't mean they're hurt.
they have a long season because of Usatf and hopefully worlds
so they are just playing out the early season for training and stepping in when it matters

How Coug Am I   May 5 at 10:55pm
Rupp, Centrowitz, Wheating, Acosta, and McNamara are those who I refer to and we'll see after the 4xmile goes down. Just saying Oregon has a stable of milers that are ready to go.
I'd like to see how well Abbott does in a tactical race, I think Wheating and obviously Centrowitz have more in their bag. Either way Pac-10 is loaded (like always) and it's impressive to be mentioned in there. Abbott has talent but it'll be interesting if he choose to run the 1500m at nationals or go for the less deep talent pool (800m)

Not Coug At All   May 5 at 5:21pm
How Coug are you, where are you getting these numbers? As far as I know only two guys on the Oregon squad have a faster time this year than Abbott, Centrowitz and Wheating. I don't see the other three you are referring to. Maybe you mean Acosta, McNamara and Rupp? I doubt the latter will run the 1500m highly and the former 2 have yet to run this season which means they are hurt. Despite all that Abbott will win Pac 10s 1500m. Remember that you heard that here first.

Wheating in the 1500m? Try Centrowitz, he's the favorite right now. Oregon could go 1-5 in the 1500m if the pace goes out respectable. It's going to be Abbott vs Oregon in the 1500, he might want to duck down to the 800m and qualify for nationals in there.

PRE Lives On   May 4 at 3:48pm
Lemanger held on for the win when last years D1 finalist pressured late.
Abbott’s late kick strategy may be more effective in the 1500 this year.
To bad Wheating will win both the 8 & 15 at league championships...

No need for harsh words, the women's team pulled a big upset. Why not gloat about that instead of try to wash down the men's accomplishments.
There were amazing fast times for the weather conditions and overall track facility. Where is the WSU vs UW indoor dual meet? How sick would that be?
It's just track guys, not like people lost their jobs over the matter like in the Apple Cup.

Go Cougs!   May 3 at 7:24pm
Anonymous, last year UW sent 13 people to nationals and WSU sent 12 and a relay. WSU beat UW last year at Pac-10's also. If you think Coug Track athletes don't accomplish much, maybe google these names: Dominique Arnold, Bernard Lagat, Ian Waltz, Diana Pickler

Oh please "anonymous" you can't brag about how many people UW will send to nationals until it actually happens. WSU has many people capable of it and I guess we shall see when Pac 10's and Regionals gets here. And who DOESN'T showboat? Come on man. GO COUGS.

I love how wsu fans put so much effort into posting worthless comments.

We'll see how many people wsu sends to nationals. Live it up coug fans. Have your precious duel meet. Continue to train and peek for May 2nd, when the Huskies will continue to achieve far greater accomplishments that you come the middle of June.
Go Dawgs.

It's a duel meet, what's the big deal? No one cheated, before/after the race who cares what goes on. There were great performances on both sides, maybe at Pac-10's we'll see some showdowns.

I remember a long time ago, Austin Abbott inspired the huskies to a UW duel victory by staring down one of the great cougar distance runners in the middle of the 1500, this today was one of those moments where despire abbotts showboating, racing did occur. I guarentee the trash talk out of jest did not upset anyone anymore than what has been witnessed in the past.

Flotrack was at this meet because these team duels mean a lot. I wasn’t there to hear what he said, if he said anything? You must admit this was not the expected outcome. If he is a punk, he’s a pretty fast one! When you win enjoy it and learn from it, when you lose learn from it.

Oh please, trackdude. It doesn't matter what anyone's done in the past, it's about performing at the moment. Your man got beat fair and square by a better man on UW's own turf.
