congrats Howard on your championship and everybody else from The "L". and to the person that says Lancaster wins from recruiting is wrong Coach Greg Williams is a great coach i have seen him take somebody out of football workouts and turn him into a state champion in the 400(Rodney Mims) so before you speak on something i think you need to check your resources!!
Thank you for promoting yourself, Coach Williams. If you do it enough, maybe some more promising athletes will be convinced that they need to transfer to Lancaster as well.

Shepard is not on steriods. He was actually faster as a sopre while at another school. Lancaster wins through recruiting, not coaching.

Lancaster "pulled in" Howard because he lives across the street from Lancaster!!!! He's won state at the 5a level on his own, and he wanted other competition and a team title & his chances were better at Lancaster. Yall seem to know it all, so tell me how could he be on steroids at the time he was running 1:50s...when he was tested before he went overseas with the World Team! Get your facts together before you come on here judging. LOL at "Someone"...please, Howard was the slimmest runner in the bunch at 13, and HE'S STILL SLIM! He hit those fast times mostly because of his training with Coach Burkley (summer track coach) who also helped out at Skyline. He didn't really have that option when he went to Lancaster, hence the reason his times dropped. Plus, he got injured...and still made it to the state meet. How many of you can say that? You mad? BE MAD!!!

Howard Lewis Shepard III   June 9 at 11:26am
LOL I been coming on here reading the rude comments you guys been making about me but what I have to say is why does the 1st thing that pop up in all you rude guys head is that I am on STEROIDS, but im not mad because in my eyes if guys are talking about me i must be doing something VERY WELL. You guys talking down on me about that 158 like im just a ordinary running or just an average runner but Im not. when I went that 158 i was trying to help my bestfriend make it out Jodale Burkley. and this whole season i have not really been hitting good times because of the cold and windy track meets i have been going to. after regionals since i had 3 HOT WEATHER weeks of training i started the work out i did my sophmore year to get ready for state, which was an ALL out 600 before my work out and speed which was 200 back 2 back really with no rest (did that for 3weeks straight everyday). and yes Patrick Todd did beat me fair and square cause i did not run my races and came the first lap in 14 minute flat and big ups to Patrick Todd for winning the 1000 meters in Big 12 Conference Indoor. and now if i really was on STEROIDS when i went across seas for the IAAF Youth World Team they would have reported it cause YES i did have to pea ion the cup over there. and YES im still going to run summer track for my team TEXAS STARS. and if you want my number to see if i really wrote this my cell number is 214-650-9981 and i will tell you everything there is to know be me THANK YOU & GOD BLESS YOU ALL

Come on man he went a 158 now what the he can run that with 3months of no practice like DUCKYFAN said stop hating cause hell when he was a sophmore he went a 154 then at state went 151 and slowed down at the line and thats 3 seconds in to weeks so whats yo point about 5.........He's the hardest person I know and can beat anybody he wants.

lol I smell haters!!!!!!! Howard is not on steroids he has one of the hardest work ethics I know. When he wants to run, he can hit just about any time he puts his mind to. He plays in the regular meets & turns it on at the big meets (i.e. STATE)

Brandon Thompson   June 8 at 9:33pm
This is his cousin, I know for a fact he is not on steroids. He is a 18 yr old kid that works hard everyday at what he does. Now, what he is on is a whole lot of milk and cereal that is all he eats if you don't believe me I will give you the grocerey bills. He is not like the average 18 yr old kid. All he does is run and come home. If you would like to become a good track star maybe you could follow this advice, WORK HARD!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!11

Ok I'll give him the weather but 5 whole seconds, without 15-25mph that doesent drop 5 seconds or 3 weeks of training unless he is just some super man.

Hey guys how can you say Howard Shepard is on steroids just cause he ran a 150 as a sophmore year the get hurt his junior then his senior year go 152 his senior. come er body nknow that all this year during track season in texas we had cold n windy ass weather then at regionals it was a 15-25 mph head wind and then he had 3 weeks of training till state n all the times if you really noticed that he hit fast times was in the summer with his summer coach not school coach

Howard Shepard is on Steroids, how do you run a 1.50 your sopre year, supposedly get hurt your junior year, and dont run anything below a 1.57 untill state then run a 1:52 your senior year, and then skip out on some steroid tests claming you are hurt your senior year, come on guys look into this.

No doubt Shepard was the man to beat, but the 2 kids from El Paso (2nd and 4th) are a Soph and a Frosh. Should be interesting to see what they do over the next few years. They run in the same district.
