As much as she is a BEASTY athlete, I love what this girl is saying about being a team member and sharing the victory with her teammates. She talked more about winning the team title and letting her teammates do their job to help bring in the team title. Good deal, Robin! Definitely looking for more from you!
I agree that I love what Robin said about being a team member and sharing the victory with her team. Of course, at the end of the day, in college you will be asked to do more to help shine a very positive light on your school, and to help the program seek other great athletes as well. As a former college coach in track & field, it is obvious to me that this young women has been trained to deal with the media, and can articulate her thoughts very well.

Congrats to both Robin, and her coaches on helping her be ready for the stardom that she will continue to attain once she hits the Senior USA National stage. As well, it is apparent to me that Robin is being trained very well in her home environment, and I'm happy to hear that she named her dad as one of her heroes as we don't always hear that from kids today.
Let's hope that Robin stays injury free in her pursuit of greatness in the sport that I've come to love since I first competed in it many years ago as sprinter/jumper/hurdler/distance runner in both middle and high school back in my hometown of E. St. Louis, Illinois.
Additionally, I hope that Robin is working on achieving a high academic GPA so that she can select whatever college that she plans to attend in her future.
Finally, I'm happy to hear that she listed Allyson Felix as one of her heroines. I find her to certainly be a very professional T&F;athlete who has tons of poise, and who can mentor Robin on what it takes to leap from high school direct to the professional ranks if she decides to choose that route.
All the best to you Robin, keep up the hard work, and God Bless you for all that you bring to our society, our sport, your high school team, and the USA!

What about the Olympics in Singapore next year? The Singapore 2010: First Youth Olympic Games ... I'd aim for this one because it is a historical opportunity.

I was a contender in the 300 hurdles at this meet and I really admire the natural talent and drive this freshman has. I'll definitely be looking forward to seeing her in the Olympics. Good luck Robin!

Robin Reynolds of Miami Jackson (HS Frosh with 4 titles)

The freshman phenom from Miami Jackson, Robin Reynolds, wins 4 individual state titles and helps her team to the state championship team title. This has to rank as one of the best freshman performances around. Check out these marks from Robin:
LJ - 1st (19'4.75", wins by 10.5 inches)
100 - 1st (PR of 11.56 +1.4w; 11.88 in semis into -0.6w)
400 - 1st (54.95, also ran 54.95)
200 - 1st (23.67 +0.7w; 24.42 in semis)

Over a 4 hour span, with semis and finals, Robin ran 6 races (then throw in two rounds of long jumping so 6 jumps total). Watch out for Robin over the next couple of years.
