I've never really been a big fan of Chris in the past, but I have come around this year. He seems to be taking it more seriously this year. More walk and less talk. He has transormed his body to be more efficient and less like a linbacker, which shows he now has the discipline to be at the top consistently. What really won me over was his 3rd place at I think Monaco. He is really stepping up. Way to go Chris!!

Go Chris S.!   August 23 at 2:48pm
Keep the fight alive!
I think the pace was too slow in the beginning. You young guys should take a look at how Mary Decker won the inaugural World Champs 3000m & 1500m at Helsinki in 1983. I found the races on youtube. Now I can only find the last 5 laps of the 3, but she led wire to wire, and it opened up a hole for the young West German, Brigitte Kraus to get 2nd over the Soviets. It was very exciting!
If you're gonna finish 12th then you may as well push the pace early at 62-63 pace and maybe you will surprise yourself with a better result like a faster time or maybe even a medal!
Oh, and it doesn't seem like you are going to win many races waiting for the sprint finish so learn how to use your strength.
Go Chris S.!
