That race was painful just to watch. I was ready to jump the fence and pull her off the track, but she stepped off on her own. Just heartbreaking.

She needs to be the NBC distance commentator after her running career ends.

i commend her for her work ethic and fight but this is very reminiscent of last yr at the trials. its like history keeps replaying itself for her. hopefully she can figure out whats causing these injuries so that she can prevent them and train more consistant. or else she may have to give up the sport she loves, or train to lesser extent which would prolly keep her injury free.

I agree with your points anonymous coward, you are correct. The times aren't there, BUT...........I do understand that others are saying to just post positive things and support our runners.

You are correct, anyone can post anything and not know jack about the sport, BUT..............some of the novice and rookie posters (runners) are never going to understand your point anyways, so why waste your time? Hey, that's just my opinion. It's free too!

everyone loves kara?????? give me a break dude and speak for yourself. I don't love Kara and believe, like many others, that she is very overrated. Unfortunately, anyone can post and say anything they want, even if they don't have a clue about T & F or marathoning, and yes I do. You probably think her bronze in 07 was amazing, but it wasn't. Why do you think she was 10 in the olympics and ran faster? No, I'm not the first to point this out, but I agree with that logic. Kara is overrated and won't medal in Berlin. You have your opinion and I have mine.

MEAN   July 1, 2009 at 11:30am
Seriously!!! COME ON! Don't some of you have anything better to do than to be mean? Shes one of our best runners. I'm sure she does have fans and friends who come to see her race. Don't dis her, or bring her down. That's not the way to encourage our distance runners. Just because she isn't Jenny B, Shalane, Kara, or Deena, doesn't mean she deserves all of this negativity. Or maybe you negative people would be happy only seeing out top 1 or 2 people in each event participate? Is that what you want....let me guess, you would probably dis them too.

If ya ain't got nothin' nice to say, seriously, PLEASE, DON'T. I mean, she's injured and already bummed. How do you think reading this kinda negative stuff makes her fell.

She is so gracious. She must've been totally heartbroken, but still she gives the interview and tries to stay positive. I hope she can get healthy and stay healthy and meet her goals. Best to her.
