Ah, that makes more sense. I thought the announcer said 55 at the start of the last lap, must have been 65.

Yes I do think he could, without other races and heats in the way. That is what he has been training for. But speaking of the "real elites", Bekele ran a 27:01 with a 53.42 last lap (easing off at the finish), which I don't think Galen is quite ready for. That said, I know next to nothing about what he is prepared for and I wouldn't bet against him in any case. I am hard pressed to hit these times in an open 400, and the last 800 in 1:50? Not a chance.

You gotta love the people who think looking back is such a disadvantage. Maybe you have form tips for him too? Or want to critique his outfit?

When will the newbs take tips from the pros... It's not the other way around.
