Whats crazy about this field is that all 8 of the runners in the race have been on a 4x4 that has ran in the range of 3:20 to 3:25 at one point. And im sure they were all the anchors too!

Thanks. I also like to end my easy or long runs with a fast (but relaxed) 400m around the track. Good luck

Hey Tim, you had amazing improvement. I looked up your times on athletic.net and were a 2:06 runner last year, started at 2:03 and ended at 1:53. What is your secret? What kind of training sessions do you do?
Well the 2008 track season was my first year of running, and i didnt really know what was going on and i was still getting the feel for things. Then XC season came around and i made it to state but i was really just doing it for conditioning for the 2009 track season. I knew i wanted to focus on the 800m and about a month before the 2009 track season arrived i started doing 400m repeats at 60-62 seconds. And going from running 3.1miles to 400m makes the one lap feel so easy for me. Then even after a long run,5-7miles, i would do an ALL OUT 400m around the track after every single workout. Before the 2009 track season even got here i could run a 55.XXsecs around the track after a 3mile run. And as soon as it was track season, i gave 100% and did all my coaches workouts properly. Another thing is ALWAYS SET GOALS FOR YOURSELF!!!!! What im really trying to say is i guess what it really comes down to is how bad you really want it. And i wanted it.

And to answer the question about what kind of training i do.....
Right now im training for XC and track. I run twice a day 6 days a week. And on monday, tuesday, and thursdays i meet up with coach Goodlow and we work on strength training and form for the 2010 track season. Even if the next track season is so far away, you ALWAYS want to keep your fast twitch muscles active!
