Here's what I want to know. How has Jenny not been USATF athlete of the week at all this year???? Every time she jumps on the track she not only wins but she completely destroys the field, run's alone and breaks one record or another. What are the qualifications for it?

Good luck, Jenny! Hope her indoor 5K counts as a record since it was amazing (and I saw it in person).
That indeed was outstanding: no splits, avoiding the men warming up on the backstretch, fans almsot standing in lane one, having to run in lane 2 while lapping the entire field! Negative split too as I recall. Really gutsy!

I am not an anonymous coward - I have been at work and do not have a log in so I just posted this comment because Jenny B is so awesome I couldn't wait until I got home. That being said, I want to add to my earlier comment. Jenny is most competitve in the 1500 M if you look at world times. Of course it all depends on who is entered.

No, I don't hear a hint of Carrie or anyone for that matter. In my opinion Jenny is uniquely Jenny. And that's what make her so fun to watch, both on the track and sitting for an interview.

Love Jenny B.
Mark you guys are one of the reasons that Jenny is known. Without Flotracks coverage and interviews we would not get to see the behind the Jenny. And I get the feeling Jenny appreciates you Flo peeps, and her success will not go to her head.

Come on Jenny, steeple and 1500. . you thrive on difficult challenges!

Jenny B is awesome! She could have blown away the field in the 1500 and 5000M at NCAA's. The only reason I would say she should do xcountry in the fall is that she keeps improving with her coach, otherwise, I wonder how she can feel exicted about beating college students who are so slow compared to her. So if it will keep her fresh and help her and her alone I say go for it. I am sure she is an inspiration to her teammates, but they are lucky to have her.

Jenny is too amazing to not commemorate for her phenomenal career. She (and a few others) are what long distance American running has lacked for so many years. Mark, I think Flotrack should do something to never let the 2009 indoor and outdoor track season to be mentioned without Jenny's name attached to it. It would be pretty amazing if Flotrack could do some kind of "Stop Jenny B" t-shirt or hype this girl up for everything she has done for our sport!

hate to be one that comes out of the "woodworks" but if you need to run more like these ladies to be fast: http://www.nbcolympics.com/video/player.html?assetid=0817_sd_atw_hl_l0802&channelcode=sportat

Oh, wait, is that Jenny in the race. Well, I'll be...you are one of those ladies.

I think it's awesome that she's running XC. She clearly has so much love for her school and is such a team player, so a good decision by Jenny. XC NCAA Championchips are in Terre Haute, not too far from where I live, hopefully I'll be able to see her run. I'm excited:)

Jenny Barringer moving forward after NCAAs

After her last NCAA Track Championship, Jenny B talks about the weekend and what it was like coming into the meet having just run at Prefontaine. Mark asks about the possibility of doubling at the US Championships (1500/steeple) in a few weeks and what her thoughts are on turning professional vs. running her last XC season.
