Solinsky is to 2009 what Paul McMullen was to the 90's, just more talented. All the 30 and up folks know what I mean.

Record Breaker   July 17 at 9:41pm
I haven't heard an American-born runner talk about breaking records in a long time - very refreshing. The record run is on!

I'm not a hater! I actually admire the guy. However, you can't deny that during his career he has been larger then the average distance guy, which means he has to work twice as hard to be as fast as he is. And yes, he is leaner this year then he has been in the past (probably from eating the chocolate crossants for breakfast ha ha.) I watched the race live this morning and was more impressed with his race then Lagat's. He hung around at the back of the pack and when others started dying from the blistering pace he stepped up and raced to the end for a close 4th.

Wow, decent interview. Truly seems like a nice humble guy. Competing with the best will be difficult, but I wish him well. Tough first mile, maybe a little too fast, but he hung in there without falling apart. Good race Chris and nice interview Ryan.

Solinsky=LEAN & MEAN!!!!   July 17 at 8:28pm
Chris Solinsky should be an inspiration to all of you haters !!!! Chris may not have the typical "Distance Runner Body", which means 130 pounds or less, but he is LEAN & MEAN !!! If Chris's times were adjusted for his extra muscle mass & large frame (Chris's Body Fat percentage is less than 8%), he would be challenging the World Records from 3k to 10K.

None of you "Solinsky Haters" can run as fast Chris, which is why he's representing the USA in the World Championships at 5K, while you're all sitting on your sedentary, bloated bottoms...Unlike boxing or wrestling, where competitors are categorized by weight, runners are only categorized by Age, which is a severe disadvantage for a Muscular Runner like Chris...However, he still makes the most of his talent and has more heart than a Cardiology Ward !!!!

He is probably the bulkiest pro-distance runner.

Dude, you are a linebacker in the distance world. Throw an elbow into the ribs of those Kenyans cutting in and maybe they will think twice next time.
