hufcor...please name any Swiss olympic champion...main sports in Switzerland would be Football(soccer) and Alpine Sports, NOT athletics. It's not that there's less sports to compete with that makes the popularity level so big. Its the experience of seeing multi-national athletes in one event. The only US meet near touching something as big as Lausanne would be The Pre Classic.

Can anyone tell me if there is anywhere on the net where I can download meets like this. I don't mind paying to support the sport.

...You know...the challenge in the USA is that Track & Field competes for attention from so many other sports. Primarily, the professional sports - Baseball, Basketball & football. Many of the track events in the US do not have the budget to put on such an extravagant event.

However, bringing attention to the sport - even at this level will only increase the interest in more fans. Keep up the good work guys!

I think what they meant was that in the US there are not so many people in the stands, not so many people from the press, and therefore not as much excitement in the air.

With some big questionsmarks I was reading the comment (as an european track-fan, but by far too slow to be able to compete). could someone explain the difference? I had the feeling in the states everything is much more triggering, better arranged and so on. So can someone explain me what you mean? hope to meet in Stockholm!

Highlights from Lausanne

Just wanted to throw something together so you could get a better feel for the meet at Lausanne. The atmosphere was great and its really an "event" for the public. Food and drinks galore and packed stands, can't ask for much more. Well.....maybe the best sprinter in the world, but Lausanne never fails to deliver.
