i think you are out of shape easy 2 min for a 100 pushups the right form and everything. i can still hit 10 min with a 50 pound pack on.

I did 100 about 6 months ago after working on the 100 pushup challenge. Have no idea what the time was, but the firt 70 or 80 were done at a good pace and then it slowed from there. If not in shape for pushups it is painful.

Kjn Head Coach   October 7, 2009 at 4:09pm
If you do a push-up with a good technique (at least finishing you movement with elbows 100% straight), it takes a little bit more than 1 sec (more like 1.3 sec each up and down cycle). So, withtout taking rest, you can't do better than 100 x 1sec...1:40. It means that someone can't take a break and still go under 1:40 because 100 well done push-ups would take between 1:40 and 2:00. Anything better than that needs a video to prove that you did the push-up with proprer technique.

I gave all I had...and got 10:37. I suspect all of those who did times under 4 minutes to have either lie or uncorrectly do their push-ups. There is more long distance runner on Flotrack than anything else. And most of us are weak, thin, without upper body muscles.
By the way, not happy with 10:37. Good challenge. I will get under 5 until end of october...

Lots of people apparently missing the "100" part of Ryan's challenge.
It's not how fast those first 50 or 70 come, but how long it takes to get to 100...
70 in 60 seconds is a DNF

Try this....1 pushup every 10 seconds for as long as you can...during 10 seconds in between you have to hold yourself up in pushup position!
See if you can beat my record...23 minutes!

The Pushup Challenge Begins...

My friend told me she did 100 pushup in 2:47. I remember I used to rock out pushups, 4x30 pretty regularly, back in the college days when I was in shape. I thought I had some man power that would carry me to the glory days so I took the challenge. It was not as easy as I had expected. I need to get in shape!

This is kinda fun to try, but can also be very painful. If you want to try throw up the video under the comments here. But don't tell your coach it was my fault if you are sore for the next week!! ;)
