Hmm   November 6 at 1:01am
I'd probably say Ryan Dohner is the top senior in Texas right now, and I believe he's staying in state.

he's right about telling a coach and team "This is where I want to go" is more important than saying how fast you are. I appreciate recruits who aren't flaky and indecisive. It's more fun having a girl come in who's enthusiastic about the program than a stud who's run fast but doesn't even seem to like your school, or who seems to think she's above it.

hahaha so many haters on the flotrack

I just do not get the haters here. Last year he seemed to be one of the kids Reed Connor always beat. His kick at the State 3200M was incredible. When coaches see a kid who can dig deep on a big stage - they want that one. That is exactly what Parker did. I am sure he will make Oregon a better team. They are lucky to have him.

One of his rivals he races alot and who beat him earlier this year Ryan Dohner will be going to UT. Should be great battles in the future, and will be a cool way to compare how well each kid progresses in the other program.

you guys seem to forget he runs for the first ranked team in the nation, and he does live near Austin so he'll get more interviews. Though he is pretty goofy, still is a bad ass track runner.

I have spoken with him about college and if it was not for Hayes UT would not have been in his top 2.

Flotrack home boy makes good! What's the problem? This whole site is about running and not just the super stars. Check out the Photo contest. All of those little pictures taken in places you never heard of. That is what this is about. Got Foot Locker coming up. Some of those kids are going to make it for the first time in their region and come to California. If Parker is there, and he may well be, than he's certainly earned the right.

Oh good grief. Flotrack can interview and give coverage to whomever they want. Give it a rest. Go to letsrun if you want to be rude and mean.

Of course if they are based in Austin they want to interview the home town kids.
So what if he has been beaten twice (oh my) how silly and immature.

What?   November 5 at 3:53pm
"I wonder if he would have gone with UT if Vigilante were still around......Definitely would have helped the program."

Kinda ignorant. You don't really know what's going on at UT, or whether Vigilante or Hayes is a better fit. Both are great coaches, but can't comment on who would be better.

Are You Serious?   November 5 at 3:50pm
How would it have helped if vigilante was there? Actually I think the opposite would have been true. No chance Texas would have been in the mix.

How   November 5 at 1:34pm
He already has made his college decision, so how do these interviews give him an advantage in anyway? It's certainly not a recruiting advantage and there is no correlation between how many interviews you get with flotrack and how well you do at your next meet. Quite all the hating. Having content like this is what is seperating flotrack from other sites.

Okay i know he lives in Cedar Park which is in Austin, and flotrack is based there. But how is this fair that he gets interviewed all the time by the guys and they make him seem like a man above boys. Its ridiculous. Hes gotten beaten twice already this year and he gets more coverage than any high school kid I have ever seen. Gives him a huge advantage for alot of things.

Hope he stays healthy and puts in what thinks he can accomplish this year.

He kinda looks like a mixture of Rupp/Ritz.

Parker Stinson off to Oregon

One of the top recruits out of Texas, Parker Stinson, has made his decision and will be heading out to Eugene next fall. Parker talks about his recruiting experience, the stress and relief of making a choice along with some advice for other high school recruits. His choice was made after narrowing it down to Texas and Oregon. Congrats to Parker and good luck to the rest of the recruits out there making their choices!
