Because American children take the school bus and don't build their aerobic engines from a young age.

First ever medals on the world junior circuit? That's big news for american distance running. Right when the big guns are dropping sub 27s and 13s and running fast 1500s and miles our younger generation steps up and continues the trend. This is most certainly very tasty and very deserved of said tastiness!! Congrats to Cas and Robby! Great racing!

it was a shame to see andrews stray away his usual plan that has never failed him, just because it was a bigger meet. i definately think he should've sat back and kicked like he's done since high school

Does Cas Loxsom think it is the same Kenyan that he shadowed that surprised him by winning. Honestly seeing and speaking, the Kenyan who won Gold - David Mutinda Mutua looks over-age. Kenyan officials are so shameless.

he was commenting on other acceptional races, wheating took 4th in the 1500 this last week becoming one of the fastest americans all time....read the context before calling people " face." otherwise you make a fool of yourself.

Andy Wheating got 4th and was never even a factor in the race. Look at the footage, you barely ever see him. Plus, that race was kick of the week and Kiplagat had a sick kick! The women's 800 was fast, but the race wasnt Tasty at all. The rabbit took them through, dropped out and Johnson was then in the lead and she stayed in the lead and nobody challenged her. It was a great performance, but not an exciting race. Tasty race does not = Fastest Performance

I know this is going to sound like a broken record but Mutua looks like he is probably 30 years old.

i feel bad for the US guys, they had a long year running for their school and to still be running this late into the summer must suck.

Wow Loxsom looked strong but Andrews was lucky to medal. That Brit just ran out of real estate or he would have got Andrews.
Thats not luck. Its the 800 meters, not the 804 meters.

Pace wasn't that fast through 400, only 52. Albeit they did go through in 24 through 200. Keep in mind Andrews has run 1:45.

yeah, i'm glad to see he stuck his nose in it. who knows what would have happened had he run the way that favors his kick. he still had a nice one at the end, but pulled up a lot at the end and almost lost 3rd place.

seems like andrews didnt really run his typical race. going out hard through 400 may have taken his kick away at the end. either way still a great race for both cas and andrews

Flotrack's Tasty Race of the Week - July, 27

Not only was the 800 Final of the World Junior Championships exciting down to the last meter, but it was also historic. Believe it or not, no US medal had ever been won in the middle-distance events at World Juniors and what happened? The US scored 2 medals in one race! Not only that, but we saw PRs from many of the athletes including winner David Mutinda Mutua of Kenya and runner-up Cas Loxsom of the US.
