As a former coach and professor at Binghamton University (42 years) I so enjoyed watching the video replay of Eric's wonderful run, breaking the magical four minute mark. I remember as a young boy being wowed by Roger Banister when he first accomplished this feat. Now one of our own student/athletes, Eric van Ingrun has joined the select group of runners in this special effort. Congratulations Eric and to your coach Michael Thompson as well, for his direction of your training and goal setting assistence. You make the Bearcats proud! Also enjoyed this after race interview. Onward and upward!

wow congrats on breaking four, my brother who goes to bing too texted me and i got really excited haha, but glad to hear that ur the first to break four at Bing, congrats man

Erik van Ingen, the junior from Binghamton, talks about running sub-4 in the mile for the first time as he won the PSU National Meet. Erik's previous PR was 4:01. He also talks about his plans for the rest of the season.
