First of all where has Floski G been the past few weeks and why is he doing a little singing tribute at the end of this video.

Then of course great job on the FTW, for the 4th consecutive week.

This is quickly becoming my favorite Flotrack series. Eaton definitely deserves the Bowerman. Hard to argue with his world record!

Good Points But   July 20 at 10:17pm
I am not taking anything away from Whiting, but what Ashton Eaton is easily the best Multi-Events NCAA athlete of all time!

He had one of the best 100s, 110H, and LJs in the NCAA! He set a WORLD RECORD! Forget about how often the event is contested, thats because it is so difficult. He also scored over 8400 points in the dec! He has made the US World Team and won 5 NCAA Titles. 3 NCAA Dec consecutive Dec wins in the dec is RIDICULOUS.
What he did in Fayetteville is amazing and would have won him the WORLD CHAMPIONSHIPS that very same day.
Dont get me wrong, Whiting has done AMAZING things and has been overlooked...I was saying he got snubbed last year by not being nominated over German Fernandez, but I think this is Eaton's year.
Seems like last year, one guy is nominated more on buzz and fan appeal than merit. Last year German got it over a few more deserving, this year Wheating got it over Sam Chelanga.

Lets clarify something, I love Flotrack and respect what you all do but lets get one thing straight...

Ryan Whiting, should win and will win the Bowerman! Not only is he the NCAA Indoor Record holder but also has the 2nd, 3rd, 4th, and 6th best throws in Outdoor History (narrowly missing the record by 3cm). Before Ryan Whiting the most ever number of meets with a throw of 70'+ in a CAREER was 5...He had 8 alone THIS YEAR. He went undefeated against collegiate competition all year, only finishing runner-up to the WL Christian Cantwell at USA indoors by 4 inches. His AVERAGE margin of victory was nearly 13 feet at every meet, including both the NCAA Indoor and Outdoor National Championships. Everything I just mentioned was unthinkable before Ryan Whiting, and will certainly be unthinkable after Ryan Whiting. Not to mention he was the NCAA Outdoor Champion in the Discus as well! Not only is he the best this year, but he is hands down, unarguably the greatest throw ALL-TIME in NCAA HISTORY! 6 NCAA Titles (3-in-a-row Indoor Shot Put, plus the NCAA Record...2-in-a-row Outdoor Shot Put, and a Discus Title!
Yes, Ashton won and broke a WR at the NCAA Indoor Championships, however it was in an event that is not contested nearly as often as the Shot Put or Discus. Not to take anything away from Ashton because a WR is absolutely amazing and he is very deserving of a nomination. But he is just not on the same level as Whiting.
Wheating, just like Ashton, is absolutely a very deserving nominee. Yes, he pulled off the 800/1500 double outdoors which is unfathomable and amazing! However, you cant possibly give the Bowerman award to someone who lost the NCAA Indoor Title! Not only did he lose the Indoor Title, but he lost to a true freshman and was out kicked. Then lost to the same guy at the Penn Relays, in the same fashion. How does that saying go?..."Fool me once shame on you, fool me twice shame on me".
All 3 are VERY deserving candidates however after anyone truly looks at what each did this entire year it is very clear to see that Ryan Whiting deserves to be the 2010 Bowerman Award Recipient!!!
