Great job, Joanie! It was great seeing you perform competitively for us one last time. Everybody cheered when Magdalena was coming by in one direction, the noise level skyrocketed when you came by in the other direction in the last lap.

Maybe if the interviewer had more insightful and interesting questions instead of the same old same old, she would have found this less tiresome? I love Flotrack but when you interview a legend, try to send someone who is up to the job!

she's notoriously shy- i don't think it was annoyance, per say.
she's said in interviews that she didn't really want to come out of the tunnel into the stadium in los angeles.

I was in L.A. when Joanie won the 1st women's marathon.She took off from grete waitz and never looked back.Running with her white cap.And on top of that.coming off of having knee surgery.Amazing.

she is an amazing woman, but I couldn't help but get the sense she was not exactly thrilled to do this little interview. It could have been the interviewer, but she looked a bit...um...annoyed. Just an observation. This doesn't change how great a competitor she was/is in women's marathoning.
