Most 5 year olds also know what a "joke" is. Not an altitude expert either but.... was he also serious about elevation up the hill, being a high peak in the alpine regions of Fayetteville and all...
Come on now.

Anyway, sweet workout, should definitely put up more Arkansas stuff, maybe one of their legendary 48 min 10 mile steady states or their mile repeats in 4:20 finishing up that hill!

Nice one Al. You'll be glad to know that their are no pine trees around the olympic track that suck oxygen . . . only 100,000 humans. Best of luck bud.

I ran that hill for 5 years about 25 years ago. It's long and gradual. Builds great strenth without sacrificing a fast leg turnover

Hills...   August 13, 2008 at 1:55pm
Think about it...if the hill was steep like you'll are whining about, then the downhill part would be a painnnn. 400 meters down a pretty steep hill will not be too great for your back and knees

Don't forget that not all hills are mountains. Depending on the workout, if u get on a hill that's too steep it can be counterproductive. Different hills provide different benefits. Remember too that its track season, not xc. In this case they are on a 600m hill with a steady gradual incline. Just some things to think about and don't forget the saying...its not the size that matters. ;)

Alistair Cragg Hill Workout

Bernard Lagat won't be the only Olympian doing the 1500/5k double. Ireland's Alistair Cragg will also try his hand at it! Alistair has run some great 3k as of late and will be focusing more on the 5k. This workout was an early part of his preparation in Fayetteville at the well-known Arkansas Golf Hill back in June. He is joined by Seth Summerside who had been coming off of injury and legendary Coach John McDonnell.
