5:23 "Beij... Osaka is all that matters" Freudian slip, but a great indicator of how much the Olympics mattered to him. Way to go Nick!

A time trial is not a race. No matter how fast he wanted to go in the last 200, it will never compare to the actual moment when his adrenal glands drops C9_H13_NO3 into his blood and he wills his body to carry himself faster than the dudes next to him having the exact same experience. Race.

Nick and Ron were not happy about that workout. The 1:49-1:50 range was a conservative safety net target so that there would be a 90% chance he'd run faster and use it as a confidence booster. Not so. He was supposed to simulate the last 800 of a WC 1500m race and all he could do was run 26.8 off a 56.8 lap. He's looked a lot better, and faster, at the end of races at Michigan. There was NO last gear there. He used to be able to accelerate away from other runners and looked relaxed doing it. Not in that time trial. Why bring Boaz into it just to run a mediocre 1:50? I hope he just had an off night. Good luck Nick.

damn, this video production is incredibly sick!! Whoever put this together, thank you. I love it.

as for Willis and the last 100M, it wasn't like he went out to run as hard as he could. Coach specifically told him to try and run a 1:49. (he was one sec. off). So what? Coach was screaming relax. And if you saw him kick in the mile at Indoor Nationals in 2005, he was literally floating in his jasaris. he sh*t all over Ahmed (from arkansas)!! Point is, the man has got wheels and definitely has what it takes to make the finals.

Represent, Willis!!

He's yelling relax because you run fastest relaxed. Whenever you strain your just wasting energy...

Everyone tries to relax throughout the race. What do you want him to yell? "TIE UP!"

Ok clearly everyone is looking in to his time too much, Nick was supposed to do negative splits and run a 149-150, and he ran a 150, by no means is that the best he can, but it was what he is supposed to do, also for those to care to know, his 800m pb is 1:45. Best of luck in Osaka.

Yea he ran a 1:50 because that's what he was SUPPOSED to do. Warhurst was yelling relax the whole time. This wasnt all out or even race pace. This was hitting pace, he'll do fine in Osaka

well, he didn't seem to look that good after that 1:50. down the last straight I can see some strugle. Like I said before he is a VERY good runner. However he needs more then luck to make the finals at the WC.

If he was doing a Lydiard style time trial they aren't supposed to be all out and at the end of it he didn't look fatigued at all. I think he is ready to roll.
