Flotrack was LIVE on site at Stanford on May 4 for the 2008 Payton Jordan Cardinal Invitational. The 2008 Payton Jordan Invite was an amazing meet with all the top American runners and even Craig Mottram of Australia and Mo Farah from Great Britain. Shalane Flanagan broke the American record for the 10k and Kim Smith broke the New Zealand 10k record. #4	Tubingen Semester Abroad Alum   May 12, 2008 at 2:45pm The guy in the blue on the cell phone in the background is German Steeple champ Filmon Ghirmai (pronounced Fill-mon Grrr-my). I had the chance to run with him in the spring/summer of '05 in Tübingen. Great guy! He trains in Flagstaff during the winter/spring. 8:20 steeple PR. I got to see him run 8:25 in Hengelo that year. He realized the difference between winning all the local races with 29-lows for the rest of his life and being competitive on the World stage at the highest level. No doubt, Fasil will run in the 27:30s at the trials. Keep it up, Sir. Your patience and dedication will be rewarded. reply
