Kara is by far my favorite runner. Especially after how she handled everything she went through a few years ago. Someone i look up to as a runner and a person.

Kara Goucher is my favorite runner, but I agree that Shalane, Dibaba and Defar are on a totally different level. She will need to step her racing up , but I think she will. Hopefully she'll have another breakthrough at the trials or in the Olympics.

She should not have to justify her 10k pr. When the time is right she will fly!

qsuriname_x, you're an idiot. She was third at the WC last year. How many other American distance runners are getting medals at WC/OC meets?

Great personality, but Shalane is going to putt a whipping on her. She needs to step up to be competitive in the 10K. This time Tirunesh and Kim Smith will not have a bad race at the olympics. Maybe the half marathon is more a distance.

I have had that a few times, thiking some pace will be easy and then getting into the race and feeling bad. I think you have to go into races knowing you're going to hurt. Great run for Kara, did what she needed to do.
