NBC SUCKS! First off the usatf site and others state that the events will be on TV at a particular time (eastern time) which to me is 3 hours ahead of that. NOT TRUE. I'm also watching it after 8, 9 and even 11pm pacific time. Secondly I'm pretty sure the 800 heats and semis were the first days of the meet, but NBC neither showed them or EVEN Mentioned the EXISTENCE of that event. And finally to give us an hour of SOME track is nice, but stick to track cause they cut away numerous times last week to talk about swimming trials when those trials were on right after the track trials.
OK I vented and feel better. Won't have to find some NBC executive and beat him down.

I very much enjoy these weekly video segments. My only beef with this week's installment is the volume on all of the dialogue was really difficult to hear, and I had my volumes maxed out. And I still am not a fan of the video feeds, strictly because of the quality issues of the sound/picture. Regardless, these shows are wealth of great information. Keep up the great work! As far as NBC goes, I think it stinks that there is not an easier means to find these FULL races on-line. Quite frustrating.

The pictute in picture is what ESPN does for indy car races. Also, why doesn't NBC ever have the videos of the races available to watch and only clips? You never get to see most of the races/events at all. If they are only going to show limited stuff, then maybe cut out any extra stuff like personal stories and such that take up the short amount of television time they are giving us.

picture window is a great suggestion. I was actually wanting them to use the picture window during the commercials to still provide some video of the distance races above the 1500m because it always seems like the commercial breaks occur just as the action starts to heat up.

I want to wish my buddy Jordan Fife good luck.
We are very proud of your achievments.
You persevered (sp), despite being from a running desolate part of the country.
I still remember you competing in open community meets where there were only 4 or 5 that showed up at all (I have it all on film and will upload one of them soon)
I would hire a computerized results guy out of my own pocket, advertise it in the paper, spend hours making homemade awards and nobody from my town would show up..
Just Fife and a couple of his buddies from Seymour 45 minutes away.
Seems like yesterday..what was it..7-8-9 years ago? maybe even 10.
Good luck Jordan.

Strength Stuff??   July 2, 2008 at 7:06pm
whats the deal with 99% of distance runners saying "i'm doing more strength stuff"? as if its something new? they've all done strength stuff before why are they making such an emphases on saying it. funny not focusing on speed is how us distance runners get outkicked at championship races, cuz most of them are tactical!!

Tegenkamp suggested the picture box to cover the long distance races a few days ago on kimbia.net's madison project videos.

The Track Revolution segments have become one of my favorite parts of Flotrack. Good analysis and in depth look and individuals and events. It just gets better every week. Keep up the good work!

i think it would be really nice if they could show us the important splits. seems like they would always cut away right before the 1600 or 3200, it would be nice for them to either show the split time on the bottom of the screen or at least let us watch the leaders when they cross that mark.

Longing For More Coverage   July 2, 2008 at 1:27pm
Hi. Hopefully this comment finds its way to the producer(s) of Track Revolution. You asked for ideas on how NBC could improve its coverage. Here's an idea: I'd really like to see more video coverage available online. NBC has posted a few clips, but not many at all, and the ones that they have posted have often been significantly cropped (e.g., women's 10,000m shows only about a minute or two of the race). It seems like this would be very simple for NBC to do. They already post a number of their regular shows online. They could include a commercial or two before the clip begins or at the bottom of the screen, if they think they need a revenue stream to support this new service. Heck, I'd be willing to pay NBC some sort of a fee for access to online video coverage over the course of the Trials. Either way, they should have an option for viewing video online!

Track Revolution #6 - Steeplechase

This week's show includes steeplechasers Josh McAdams and Kyle Alcorn, a quick look back at the first half of the trials, and a memo to NBC!!
