The spring prior she set the national record in the high school 1600 running 4:33. She also set the 1500 national record which would be broken later on my Jordan Hasay while they were running against one another at the 2008 Olympic Trials. In her first year at Washington, she led her team to an NCAA team title by placing 7th overall. She was the top freshman in the race.

Kara Goucher, Shalane Flanagan, Deena Kastor, Shannon Rowberry and many others(if you have been watching Flotrack you know who they are). This year our junior runners will go head to head with the Kenyans and the Ethiopians, and they won't be conceding anything...I really hope we get the opportunity to watch them compete. (If anyone from USATF is reading this :) reply
