This was certainly one of greatest 4x4s ever, but it was no different than ERs victory, Winslow Twp, LBP girls, Muir or the 2009 4x8...it is always exciting when a US team is in contention. I have been to t&f;meets in more places than I can remember and the Penn Relays HS 4x4 is unique; you actually feel it in your bones. If any H.S. in the U.S. has a 3:12 type 4x4, they can give their kids an experience of a life time by bring them to Penn. - Thanks to whoever posted this because it reminds me of how exciting our sport can be.

Excuse my poor typing, 12/26/08 Yohan Blake will turn 19, ie. December '08

Nat   April 22, 2008 at 11:20am
Some of us need the Penn Relays "School Days", because Yohan Blake will not be 19 until 12/26/89, he will be 18 until the end of the year. Nellum waited for Blake. If Nellum had gotten the baton behind, all of us would have probably seen the first 44 point relay leg by a high schooler. We might even see by Blake, except he will probably get the baton so far in front, but strange things can happen at the Penn Relays. See you there!!!

'Hush up uno mouth' you can only run against your competitor. If Penn relay want to allow some one that is 19 to run against someone who is 18 that their business, not the Athletes. All I know is respect due to both Nellum and Blake.

How old is Yohan Blake? I'd bet he isn't 18. I'd bet 21 or 22 :-)

I couldn't sleep so I watched 4 races one more time after not playing it through XC. Man...every HS coach should have their team watch this. I've been at The Penn's more than 25 yrs and never have there been four more exciting races at one Penn. I'm gonna' have our girls watch 4 races before indoor Nats. Elenore Roos.Girls & LBP boys, along w/ Blake put on a show. For those of you that don't know that was not the 1st nor the last time Bryshon spanked Yohan! Jamaica vs African american...all in fun, all part of the African diaspora! In NYC we're blessed to have very good Jamaican coaches, C Malcolm, Sean P, Andrew, Lee & others. I love to stick it to my Breadren' & boy can I do it this year! As dem' boys & girls dem' got spanked. Yeah mon! We're trying develope a competetive G 4X8 for 08. It's a long shot, but keep your eyes open for somethisg out of NY. By the way, Brothers Randel J & Chris Malcolm predicted all 4 races. Blake in the 4X2, ER in the G 4X4 & 4X8 & LBP in the B 4X4. See you at the fast track for NSIC in the cultural hub, NYC baby! The House of Swing. Support Ms Clinton event that's where the action is in March! See ya'!

I really loved seeing the LBP third leg, Isaiah Green rally for position on the curve- HE'S A TRUE FOOTBALL PLAYER who runs fast!He also chose college football. Watch out for him! 3:09.9 in the 4x400 is not slow. There is not a high school runner in the country that runs 44.6. If Nellums is slow, I'd hate to see fast because that person would be blazing. I'd bet you could not beat him because 44.6 is bogus!

i use to run in high school at penn (10 years ago) and i ve seen some good races which included obea moore but this race was one of a kind. this race should good down as the best 4x 400 ever.... i really felt like i was there and trust me the penn relays crowd gets rowdy. you havent been to a real track meet until you go to the penn relays..... to hear the people chanting U.S.A over and over again is unexplainable......its like a olympics for high school track............one word descibes the meet....breathtaking....just like that race........
