Treniere Clement grew up in the suburban town of Monroe Falls, Ohio where she started running because a lot of her friends were on the track team. When it came time to pick a college Clement wanted to escape the suburbs and headed to Georgetown and the big city of Washington D.C. Treniere?s career at Georgetown really started to take her senior year when she finished third in the mile and fourth in the 3k at the 2004 NCAA indoor Championships. The Outdoor season in 2004 was even better for Clement; she finished a close second to the heavily favorited Tiffany McWilliams. Clement continued her season after NCAAs to compete at the 04 Olympic Trials in Sacramento. Clement was in great position to make the finals but fell meters away from the finish line and was the first women not to make the final. Clement?s career took an upturn when she decided to move from D.C. to Knoxville, Ten to work with Coach J.J. Clark and train with Hazel Clack among others. Since that decision Clement?s PRs have dropped from 4:11.11 to 4:03.32 in the 1500 and her 800 time dipped under 2 mins for the first time in 2005. Not only has Clement?s times dropped but her racing has vastly improved, she has won three national titles since going pro, which includes the last two US outdoor 1500m titles. Clement still trains in Knoxville with Coach Clark and has her eyes set on the Pacific Rim, Osaka in 07 and Beijing in 08.
