After watching the finals of his race, felt bad for him (the american record holder) but I think after pushing for a lead and then again trying to compete with the eventual winner, then the brief physical and psychological lapse came and by the time, he tried to push again he was history. I think he had it in him to make the team concentrated too much on winning rather than making the team. I hope he does not retire and give it a try next year before the Olympics. I think he can make it.
