I was much surprised at a japanese guy's running.
His spurt made the race good. In addition, He make a national record.
I look forward to watching his running at Biejing Olympics 5000m FINAL race.

I believe the "A" standard and the Trails standard are not the same. The "A" standard is harder.....
If you get the "A" standard for a event and complete the trails final for that event... you cold still go to China... even if you do not get in the top 3 for that event if the people in fornt of you have not gotten the "A" standard.

If an athlete has an A standard in their event, then a top 3 finish at the trials would solidify their spot on the Olympic team.

Question   July 31, 2007 at 8:00pm
Does getting the A standard this year mean the guys won't have to worry about it next year for Beijing? He kept mentioning the A standard and just kept thinking that they didn't qualify for Osaka so it doesn't matter. Thanks.

Solinsky is going big! Way to handle it with that guy falling in front of you. Even for a huge PR he did not die at the end and did not seem out of place running that fast!
