- See Less - For Josh McAdams, 2006 season was his bet yet. At BYU he anchored the DMR, almost ran down Arkansas, and finished a surprising second. Then in the steeple at NCAA?s in Sacramento, he defeated a deep field, which included the returning champion. During his time at BYU, Josh went from walk-on to NCAA champion. Earlier on, McAdams attended Belmont University in Nashville, TN, and then went to Thailand for mission work On return from Thailand he enrolled at BYU and walked onto the track team. At BYU he earned 4 All-American honors and competed at 6 national championships.
I remember running a 5 min mile on BYU track and I talked to him just after. I was blown away by his talent. I'm trying to lose fat after my mission like he did, well 30 not 40 lbs.
When you consider there's so much opposition with us taking on terrorism. It's life or death, unfortunately. Looking at history, thank God that there's the USA to take on evil.
Nice guy, but not a big fan of the 'us against the world' comment. There is something seriously wrong with that attitude. It isn't helpful.
It's great to see USA running doing well, improving and having good results. Thanks for the incredible coverage Mark et al.! You all are doing an incredible job!
wcsn.com sucks do not use it. I dont know what WCSN'S IT'S are doing but they are educated like third graders. I was so pissed at WCSN at london marathon. I stayed up all night to watch it live at 4am and I had chips and dip and drinks ready to watch it and it says sorry you not in the country you say you are, i use like 10 diffrent proxies from diffrent countries and its still blocked!
This guys is tough as nails and has the confidence of Michael Jordan, when he starts kicking at around 600 meters, he does it with authority and with the attitude that he can run with anyone on the planet. He's a personal inspiration of mine, big time. My heart broke when he lost the race with the stumble but watching him in this interview in great redemption. He's smiling and just about as happy as he would've been if he HAD made the final. Just a wonderful example of everything great you can find in an athlete. He's not done! He'll be back and eventually he will no longer be "the forgotten man" of U.S. running!
-thanks for getting the interview Mark
I really like Josh, but I am not sure there is any reason for a protest having watched the race. However, best of luck to him, and keep up the good work Mark.
