Stevie Y - I could not agree more, people seem to forget that everyone in the race is trying to qualify and position themselves the best. It's impossible for everyone to sit on the leader's shoulder, someone always has to get boxed and unfortunately for Kevin it was him this time

He makes an excellent point that tactical shortfalls easy to figure out in hindsight, after the fact. I think some critics should be more cogniscent of that.

PS Merdock, I'm sure Kevin still laces 'em up to enjoy a game of shinny every now and then.

I have to give the guy credit rejecting his peers not taking hockey lessons to run.

Kevin has stated this reality of tight championships races before: "If you're boxed on the inside late in the race, just stay calm and wait for an opening...something almost always opens up." Man that takes nerves of steel! Not to mention the ability to take advantage of the opening when it comes. The 1500 really puts these guys through the wringers and I'm continually impressed by Kevin's ability to compete and succeed in these battles. Kevin, you certainly showed the form and poise it takes to make the final. Congrats on another successful and healthy season.
Here's hoping you get the openings when you need them in Beijing.
