Great interview ! Sure 9th in the world now at the 10K (awesome in my opinion), but I like Ritz's chances in the future. Congrats on being a father ! Hope it's all you envisioned and much more ! Good luck at the marathon trials in New York, and the trials in Eugene, OR next year. I hope that you make the Olympic team in at least one event and represent the US in China!

i give you encouragement for your efforts but you need to get stronger. You are at least one or two levels below Bekele and a couple of those guys. You know that looking at placing at this race (9th) could be very tricky and deluting, there is another level that you have to go if you really want to become competetive.

Come on Dathan, for ONCE in an interview, say something positive. If every race sucks, then quit. LOVE what you do! You are the 9th fastest man on a planet of 6 Billion. That's enough.. now FREAKING enjoy it!!!!!

Just like the way the Swedish guy was 4th in WC and has been training in kenya, if few Good Americans go and train in kenya, they will be better off instead of making excuses. OK.

in the high heat and given the conditions, you're still the 9th best 10K runner in the world on that day so it is still an awesome job

Addison Ritzenhein:AR:American Record--nice touch! Good luck getting some sleep; good luck remembering things when you don't get some sleep (after our second child, I went to the dry cleaner and couldn't remember why I went there); good luck in New York--the rolling course suits you perfectly.

Hey man 9th is great, look at the people you beat-even the ones who droped out. How bad were the conditions? for africans to drop, it must've been brutal.
good luck in NYC
