Compare this with Robert Gary's "I like small teams"...which coach is providing the university with the best system? As a walk-on at IU in the mid-80's, my answer is easy. Heck, its running - just as easy to have a big team as a small, never know who's gonna pop up. I didn't, but I did provide those who did with a target along their way. Go Eagles!

Answers: Yes anyone that is trying out can go to Pigeon Lake. We have to pay to go so usually there are like 30 or 40 guys that go. As for the race, the top 24 make the team but there are restrictions for older guys to make the team so that we have a good number of spots to develop younger runners. The final roster is decided by Coach Fritsch and he can make any exceptions.

I dont know if I like that system. A guy can be on the team for 3 years and not make it his senior year because of a bad day? Can I get some more insight into this?

Well... Can you just explain the whole race thing? How many guys tried to make the team and do you have to be in the top 24 to make it? What if you have a guy who's injured or a really talented freshman?

Alumni - UW Lacrosse - The Season

The past week was a very busy one for the UW-L men’s cross country team. Events included during the video include the team’s annual trip to Pigeon Lake in Drummond, Wisconsin, the intrasquad race to decide the 24-man roster, and the alumni race for UW-L grads.
