Holy smokes! I ran against Marzuki in high school. I had no idea he went on after that. Check out his name on Wikipedia. "Look at the big brain on Brad!"

I heard some good advice about public speaking once. If you're not nervous...get nervous...or at least simulate it with caffeine.
I did like the interview but it may have benefitted from coffee.
I do hope that running is always a part of his life, though a 6 year layoff suggests otherwise. It's hard to keep motivated when you're many minutes off your PR's...Marzuki, hope you have a great race in November, but I also hope to see you out faking it with the rest of us schlepps in 20 years.

Talk about some poise on the part of the interviewer, I thought those were some well put questions. You get more than banter when it's directed well like that. Nice and objective. =)

Marzuki is the man. I remember him running in the 10k at the Northeastern invite in low 32's one year and then 10 mins later ran the steeple in the 9:20's

Interview by Kevin Selby The U.S. Olympic Team Trials in men's marathon will be held in New York City's Central Park on November 3, 2007. The top three finishers will qualify for the 2008 Bejing Olympic Games. Stories of race favorites will be told frequently leading up to the race. The majority of the field, however, exists without publicity and support and sees this race as the biggest of their running careers. Over 150 American men have earned the right to toe the line in New York, and significant sacrifice and quality training is occurring to prepare for this race. Flotrack will bring you the stories of these men and investigate how these qualifiers became and continue to be among America's best. Marzuki Stevens explians how he took 6 years off of training and decided to get back into when he was working in the Swiss Alps.
