What's up with the dudes checking their splits in the middle of the race. It's cross-country, splits are pointless. And how old is Chad Roberts? 30? 35?
Very well done son! I know how hard the team members work on their running and academics. It sounds like "parent of a recruit" has gotten the feel for Tiffin. Guys working hard to get better and having fun doing it. I love the video images, interviews, and music. Very well done. Good luck at regionals next week!
the new video is coming. I am working on it as I speak. It has been midterms as of late and another goal we have on our team is to be Academic All-American. Now that the workload is lighter I'm back at it!
I've looked at many of the videos on this site, and I want my son running for a program like this one. The guys on this team seem to get along and are all striving for perfection. Sounds like the athletes were average or maybe a bit above average athletes in high school and have made tremendous gains in college. Good Luck
Thoughts on how things are playing out in the region. Things are certainly heating up and looking really tough up front. Where are the new videos? Where do you guys think you will end up at regionals now? Top 12? Top 8? Top 4? #1?
I'm being recruited by Tiffin University and just wanted to see what the Team was made up of. I like what I see. Sounds like you work hard but are having fun doing it. Good Luck in your quest.
We had a couple guys who had really great races. I know a few of us (myself included) were disappointed with how we did individually. It seemed to be a matter of not reaching our potential on that given day for various reasons. We all believe, as a team, that we have a better race in us. Thanks for the support.
Thanks for the clarification. Did your team run well at All-Ohio? I see in the latest NCAA DII poll that your team is ranked 8th in your Region.
Good Luck the rest of the season.
I am currently at TU as a grad student. All of our classes are held on Saturdays so i have had to prioritize my schedule (and miss races). I wasn't able to make the second and third races but i will be with the team the rest of the season.
After watching your first video, I became an interested observer. I like the positive attitudes of the guys on your team. If I'm not mistaken, the guy you called "white cactus" ran 3rd man for you at All-Ohio. Did he have a bad race or did Jason Bumb have a good race. Where has this Justin Setty been all season?
Our next video will address a lot of these questions. Production on it is a little slow because the race was bitter sweet and I am allowing some time before diving into some interviews with people who have mixed feelings about their races. Furthermore, I ran horribly and so my ambition immediately after the race was lacking.
tbux800, How many students attend Tiffin? Did your team run well at All-Ohio or do you have a better race in you? How did your coach feel about the teams finish? Looks like Roberts ran well!!!
It looks like they crapped the bed...but then again all those times are pretty slow. They are about 15 seconds per guy worse than Ashland...if AU has a chance...maybe those Tiffin guys do as well. A more sensible goal would be top 10 or so. But hey...if you are going to be top 10 why not throw in the top 4 goal as well.
What are your comments how things went at all-ohio for your Tiffin Dragons? Do you guys still feel like nationals is in your cards? Was it a good race for you guys? I need to know.
tiffin has been NCAA/NAIA for a number of years. This is the first year Tiffin is ONLY NCAA. Todd Casey was an All-American and he was definately one of the guys who layed the groundwork for what is being done right now.
This year is the year we are strickly d2. We used to be d2 and NAIA. plus Todd was a great runner don't get me wrong but Chad Roberts is running way faster times then Casey. Plus the team this year has much more depth then any team tiffin has had for xc
i thought that you had a runner named Todd Casey who was D2 All-american how is this the first year in the NCAA? so yeah you guys wont be the first people to go to nationals in D2 from this school, thank him for taking it to the next level.
the song was "Weekend Warriors" by A Change of Pace. Sorry, from now on i'll list what the songs are and I will also try to include places and times. I am always open to CONSTRUCTIVE criticism and make an effort to give people what they ask for.
Nice video...Production is getting better...who was the whale that walked behind in the final interview? She looked like a member of the red team from "Biggest Loser" she probably had too many meat lovers omlettes...
OMG...loving you guys. Total respect for a group of runners keepin it serious and about the sport but still having a good time. I would love to be part of what this team is about. And wow...to all the negative comments: either wake up on the other side of the bed tomorrow or don't hate 'em cuz you aint 'em cuz thats what it wounds like...GO DRAGONS!

"Who the heck is Tiffin?"?
Before their first video I'd never heard of them either and to me it doesn't really matter...and it sure as heck doesn't matter (to me) whether they make Nationals. What DOES matter (to me) is that THEY care about Nationals etc and seem to abound in enthusiasm along the way. The video brings their particular team to life. Each team has it's story and it all looks like good honest fun and hard work. I love it. Go "Tiffin" (whoever you are)
Nice work. A meal like that once in a while isn't just OK, it's almost required.
I really like this format where we get to see a big race from the perspective of a single team. Great video. Go Tiffin
The Tiffin XC team was in action at the Southern Missouri Stampede. Follow the guys as they race their way to 15th out of 39 teams (missing nationally ranked Harding by 10 points). Also, get an all-access look at what a finely tuned body should eat the day before a race. October 1, 2007
The Tiffin University Dragons have recently moved into NCAA Div II and have set their sights on making the national meet. Follow along as they vie for a top four spot at the regional meet and take their program to the next level. Current runner and Flotrack contributor Thomas Buxton will document their 2007 season.
Way to go Tiffin!
Good Luck the rest of the season.
Tiffin still has a ways to go but they do have what appears to be a positive environment. Keep it up guys. Videos are sweet.
Amazing video, very funny... and who was the guy in the green and yellow headband, he was amazing
